| Job Advert Summary | BTT is currently recruiting for an Artisan Assistant to join the Maintenance Department at Richards Bay.
The main purpose of the job is to assist Artisans in performing maintenance tasks, inspections and minor fitting, electrical & instrumentation tasks that do not require qualified Artisans’ attention. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Basic Computer knowledge |
| Minimum Requirements | Matric or N1
N3 Welding or Boilermaker 2 years engineering experience in a petrochemical environment or similar. |
| Duties and Responsibilities | Assist with comprehensive maintenance program to ensure equipment availability.
Assist Artisans during maintenance breakdowns and preventative maintenance. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety in area of work. Dispose waste generated accordingly. Tag and return equipment removed for repairs to Stores. Maintain all tools and equipment in good working order. Perform periodic equipment inspections. Complete all preventative maintenance checklists and update records. Remove and install minor equipment. Assist with project work when required. Safely operate basic tools and equipment. |
