Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: NQF Level 4 (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid firearm competency certificate (for handgun, rifle, and shotgun).
- Physically fit with no criminal record.
- Valid driver’s license and Professional Driving Permit (PDP) (except for persons with disabilities).
- Relevant training (from SAWC or any accredited institution) is essential.
- Computer literacy (with certification) will be an added advantage.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge in tracking and firearm handling.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work irregular hours (weekends, public holidays).
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Client orientation and customer focus.
Key Duties:
- Protecting the nature reserve and its natural resources through patrols and other conservation measures.
- Inspecting and repairing boundary fences.
- Warning visitors about unauthorized actions and reporting non-compliance.
- Assisting with fire management and access control.
- Monitoring ecological processes, gathering biological and ecological data.
- Identifying areas for rehabilitation and monitoring progress.
- Controlling and maintaining recreational facilities.
- Supporting wildlife management initiatives in other areas and communities.
