Position Overview
As a member of our Technical Service Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of our specialized packaging systems equipment. This position involves extensive travel throughout Southern Africa, providing a diverse and challenging work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and Maintenance: Install specialized packaging systems equipment at industrial packaging, food, and consumer product manufacturing facilities. Perform planned maintenance and troubleshooting for all customer equipment, which may require working weekends and after hours.
- Technical Support: Offer comprehensive technical support and advice to customers, addressing equipment breakdowns and technical issues. Develop strong technical relationships with customers, including diagnostics and advisory services.
- Spare Parts Management: Handle spare parts ordering, including documentation and pricing. Conduct stock takes and control of spare parts, ensuring critical parts are always available and well-maintained.
- Reporting and Documentation: Create detailed technical service reports, identify deviations, and initiate corrective actions. Maintain accurate records and documentation for all technical services provided.
- Customer Satisfaction: Strive to exceed customer expectations and ensure high levels of satisfaction. Manage costs effectively while boosting cooperation and solutions with strategic partners, including service technicians and external customers.
Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge
- Technical Qualification: Possess a recognized technical qualification as an Electrician or Artisan, or be in the process of completing one.
- Mechanical and Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, and PLC systems is advantageous. Experience in a related industry will be a plus.
- Licenses and Documentation: Hold a valid code 08 driver’s license and a valid South African passport.
- Skills: High levels of energy and problem-solving capabilities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage time effectively. Must be a self-starter, capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Work Ethic: Ability to prioritize tasks, work overtime and weekends when required, and maintain a positive attitude.
