PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To monitor and control equipment and processes in a control room from a Mineral Processing Environment in terms of compliance with operational procedures and quality assurance requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 (NQF level 4) is essential.
• Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) Maths & Science would be an advantage.
• 3 years working experience in the Dryers environment is essential.
• Computer Literacy (MS Office) is essential.
• Valid medical certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate.
• Completion of IISP and ISP would be an advantage.

• Must be self-driven, highly motivated with good people skills.
• Must maintain a high standard of work.
• Must have good organizing, delegation, and communication skills.
• Must have good analytical skills.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Operate the stokers to its optimum temperature by means of coal burning, draft and airflow.
• Control temperatures in drying chamber to get the maximum atomiser amps and optimum dryer outlet temperatures.
• To operate flash dryers effectively.
• Control settings on precept and baghouse systems to maintain dust emissions below environmental limits.
• Control flocculant dosage and feed to thickeners to get the best SG and required Overflow Clarity (<50000ppm).
• Maintain the levels in the stock tank to prevent downtime.
• Control incoming feed to the thickeners.
• Ensure that the flocculent mixes properly in the tanks.
• Maintain levels in tank by stop and start pumps.
• Run the Dryers effectively by controlling temp and feed.
• To identify deviations and threats and promptly react to minimize downtimes.
