Johannesburg Water SOC Ltd (JW) is a municipal entity incorporated on 21 November 2000 and commenced business on 1 January 2001 as an independent company, with the City of Johannesburg (CoJ) as its sole shareholder. The Entity provides water and sanitation services to an area stretching from Orange Farm in the South to Midrand in the North, Roodepoort in the West, and Alexandra in the East. The Entity supplies 1.6 billion liters of potable water per day, procured from Rand Water. Johannesburg Water treats 909Ml per day of sewage at its six wastewater treatment works (WWTW), which includes two of its biogas-to-energy plants, where methane gas is converted to energy.

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about data accuracy? Johannesburg Water is seeking a skilled Data Controller to ensure the accurate capture and submission of documented data, including call-in/walk-in customer information, asset costing, and work orders.

Purpose

The Data Controller is responsible for managing the first phase of core data entry within the SAP system and ensuring its accuracy. This role involves handling Johannesburg Water management documentation and providing support to customers and internal staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately capture core data from the SAP system and route work orders to the appropriate foreman or operations manager.
  • Assist in rectifying data errors within the SAP PM system, improving the quality of transactions for depots.
  • Support walk-in and call-in customers by creating work orders and assisting artisans when necessary.
  • Inform depot staff about any data-related issues and assist in correcting errors.
  • File correspondence daily and offer support to the IMIS Administrator and switchboard/receptionist when required.

Job Requirements

  • Qualifications: Grade 12 or N3 (NQF 4)
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in data capturing and familiarity with SAP.
