The Office of the National Director of Public Prosecutions was established on 1 August 1998, in terms of section 179 (1) of the Constitution. The NPA comprises the National Director, who is the head of the Office and manages the Office; Directors of Public Prosecutions; Investigating Directors and Special Directors; other members of the prosecuting authority appointed at or assigned to the Office; and members of the administrative staff at the Office. Legislation governing the prosecuting authority is the National Prosecuting Authority Act, 1998 (Act No. 32 of 1998). The Constitution, read with the said Act, provides the prosecuting authority with the power to institute criminal proceedings on behalf of the State and to carry out any necessary functions incidental to instituting criminal proceedings.

Administrative Clerk

Location: Pretoria: Head Office

Reference No: RECRUIT 2024/262

Salary: R216 417 per annum (Level 05)

Requirements: Grade 12 / Matric certificate. Able to type

Knowledge: Knowledge of clerical duties, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computer and collecting statistics. Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing the public services

Duties: Render general clerical support services. Provide supply chain clerical support services within the component. Provide personnel administration clerical support services within the component. Provide financial administration support services in the component

Administrative Clerk: Supervisor

Location: Pretoria: Head Office

Reference No: RECRUIT 2024/261

Salary: R308 154 per annum (Level 07)

Requirements: An appropriate B Degree (NQF level 7) or Three (3) year Diploma (NQF level 6).

Experience: Minimum two (2) years’ relevant experience performing general administration function

Advantageous: Experience in HR, Fleet and Facilities is an added advantage.

Duties: Supervise and render clerical support services. Administer facilities management and administration within the component. Administer Fleet Management and Administration. Administer human resources duties.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to identify and handle highly confidential matters.
  • Demonstrable competency in acting Independently, Professionally, Accountable and with Credibility.
  • Sound planning and organizing skills, written and verbal communication.
  • General computer literacy skills and knowledge in programs MS Word; Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Good people skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
